The JK Somme S-1 is a strongly built simple construction and totally manual operating table top seamer - round can closer, that will handle the full range of sanitary sizes, with can diameters from 52 to 222 mm and heights between 20 and 300 mm.

Main elements:

  • Seaming spindle with one rotary seaming chuck.
  • Manual actuated seaming lever with 2 seaming rolls: 1st and 2nd operation.
  • Lifter plate actuated by foot pedal with seaming pressure regulated by a spring.
  • Control panel.
  • 3-phase or single phase 1 Hp motor.

Seaming quality:

The proximity of the seaming rolls is pre-adjusted in both first & second operation and therefore seaming quality is not affected by the effort/force applied by the operator.

We manage to obtain the same seaming quality in all the cans, without variations caused by the force applied by the operator.

Based on our experience and having in mind ability & fatigue factors one operator could close:

In 1 hour: 600 cans
In 2 hour: 1100 cans
In 3 hour: 1500 cans

For more than 2000 cans closed per day we recommend two S-1 or one semiautomatic can seamer S-220/222.

Can size changeovers:

  1. Complete tooling changeover: 5-10 minutes.
  2. Can height regulation: 3-5 minutes (without additional parts).
